Avoiding CO2 emissions

Avoided CO-emissions do not need to be compensated

Avoiding CO2 emissions - that means to renounce to the burning of fossil fuels - is the most secure form of protecting the climate. It also means not to waste the limited areas for reforestation in the world to compensate avoidable emissions.

  • The first step to reduce CO2 emissions is to be more conscious about the use of energy; e.g. air-conditioning, stand-by-modus, emission-data of the next car you buy, quantity and quality of the mobility you think you need.

  • The second step should be technological improvement; e.g. a better isolation of your home, a new and modern heating-system, the use of Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung, a hybrid-car and other.

  • The third step could be the increasing use of renewable emission-free energy. Whenever possible this option should be chosen, e.g. solar or wind energy…
