With respect to potential imprecision, PrimaKlima would like to point out that the organization aims for a compensation goal with a fulfillment factor of five. Should the numbers calculated for emissions be slightly off, such a deficit would therefore be compensated.

The result

The atmosphere is polluted with    0,0    tons of CO2-emission by the considered energy consumption of one year or of a single event.

In order to not contribute to climate change in the future, two complementary options are available:
   
(a)    reducing the amount of CO2-emissions in question by changing ones way of living and by technical means,
   
(b)    sequestrate the amount of CO2 that was not avoided from the air via biotic means, such as afforestation, for example

PrimaKlima recommends to avoid as much CO2-emissions as possible by choosing option (a) and to compensate the amount of CO2-emissions that have not been / cannot be avoided yet by means of option (b)


Compensating CO2-emissions that have not been avoided is the basis for climate-neutral living and economic activity.
   
   
To sequestrate    0,0  tons  of CO2-emission from the air within 10 years 0  square meters  respectively  0,0  hectares (ha)
of additional forest have to be planted.
 
You can initiate these afforestation efforts by donating    0,00 Euro  to PrimaKlima-weltweit-e.V.

The size of the new forest area will be determined in such a way that the amount of CO2 in question will be sequestrated from the air within one decade (on a linear basis). Additional decades of growth will increase the results; after 50 years, five times the amount of CO2 in question will be absorbed. Therefore, the pollution you are responsible for will be more than neutralized.
   



Basis for calculations

Calculating the area:
: 0,1 hectares (ha) of forest (= 1,000 square meters) absorb 10 tons of CO2 (rule of thumb) from the air within one decade (on a linear basis). With respect to the climate zone, soil conditions, tree species, etc., special estimations are made to determine the actual size of the afforestation area in equivalence to the rule of thumb when planning a project.

To initiate an afforestation covering 1 ha, PrimaKlima requires a donation of 1,000 Euro (average amount for domestic and foreign projects). Donations cover all expenses when projects are realized abroad. In Germany, a donation represents initial financing and prompts third party payments, which covers all costs.

10 Euro have to be paid per ton of CO2 to be absorbed (according to the rule of thumb). Absorption within roughly 10 years; after 50 years, 5 tons of CO2 will be sequestrated from the air per ton of CO2 emitted originally.

The model including a compensation fulfillment factor of five is PrimaKlima's standard model for biotic CO2-compensation. Other arrangements can be made after further discussion with PrimaKlima.
