Initiating afforestations and CO2 absorption
achieving climate neutrality

CO2 (carbon dioxide) is an essential and vital component of the air. As long as the natural cycle of CO2-emission (being released in the air by aspiration and combustion of fossile fuels) and CO2 absorption (sequestration from the atmosphere by oceans and land vegetation, above all by forests) are in good balance and a certain concentration level (for example 300 ppm) is secured, there is no danger for the climate. The energy intensive lifestyle of our civilization with its extensive combustion of fossile fuels has caused the level of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere to reach 390 ppm. Thus, the balance of cycle is severely interrupted - with scaring consequences for the stability of our climatic living conditions.

Theoretically and practically, the following was and is true: If mankind would have managed the global forest area in accordance with its growing greenhouse gas emissions for the past 150 years, the carbon cycle would have remained in balance and there would not be any problems with an extended concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

But now that we understand the connections, we should act accordingly:

  • avoid as much CO2-emissions as possible
  • CO2-emissions that have not been avoided by initiating appropriate afforestation efforts.

  • By doing so, every private person, every company and every public or private organization can make sure to no longer contribute to climate change by securing CO2-neutrality of its actions. The PrimaKlima principle even results in a bonus for the atmosphere by absorbing more CO2 than is being emitted.

The first step is: Calculating the amount of CO2-emissions, that one is responsible for.
