Reducing energy consumption, using energy more efficiently and increasing the share of renewable sources of energy are the basic requirements for effective climate protection. In light of the huge challenge presented by the greenhouse effect problem, the possibility to sequestrate CO2 from the air and storing carbon in forests and wood by planting additional trees is an indispensable option.

The already existing forests eradicate more than a third of CO2-emissions being caused by energy use. Afforestation is a very important effort to stop the ongoing rise of CO2-concentration in the atmosphere. Moreover forests can have positive effects on the development on life on earth.
